Abstract:As an efficient and light tensile structure system, tension cables are widely used in modern architecture. This paper constructs the main line of connection between the nature of tension and the perception of phenomena, and discusses the interaction between the logic of force in cables and design performance. With the delineation of the historical development of cables, it fully displays and summarizes its evolution in different stages, and analyzes the relationship between essential reasons and space perception. Through comparison between design cases, it summarizes the modern design logic and visual expression method of tension buildings represented by cables, and reveals the design connotation of the tension cables from the mechanical essence to the spatial phenomenon expression.
