Abstract：The influence of phenomenology on architecture and artistic creation is fundamental, which shows the way and depth of the source connection between human and the world. On the basis of summarizing and reviewing the development of phenomenology, this paper focuses on horizon which is the core concept of Husserl’s genetic phenomenology and analyzes its essence to point out its pre-existent significance to creativity. Through the representative works of Wang Shu and Xu Bing, the author tries to establish the methodological framework with six core elements of the design thinking of horizon, and then reveals a design paradigm which can return to the origin of life world through physical perception and fabrication in order to expand the thinking boundary of architectural phenomenology and explore the possible path of reconstructing the engineering technology philosophy in the quality times.
