Abstract:From SARS and MERS to COVID-19, the impact caused by sudden public health events continues to intensify. Home isolation has become one of the most effective means of responding to the spread of the persistence of COVID-19. The increased time spent at home has highlighted the impact of settlements on human health. Based on the concept of“anti-epidemic housing”, this paper analyses the impact of housing on human health and the ways to prevent the spread of the virus and improve physical and mental health, and proposes countermeasures at the residential area, building and home levels. The focus of the research moves from specific technical methods to the traditional philosophy of living with“Qi”and“Yang”. The research has experienced the process from“art”to“tao”, and the research method follows the sequence from experience to retrospection of classics, to qualitative research, and to quantitative research, which is different from evidence-based design.
