Abstract:Under the background of the new era, the change of educational concept and the fluctuation of the demand for school space resources have put forward new requirements for the learning space and architectural design of primary and secondary schools. The introduction of the concept of flexibility provides a different thinking angle for the innovative design of learning space. This article reviews the main reasons for the contradiction between the current situation and future development trend of learning space design in primary and secondary schools in China, summarizes the related research on flexibility and architectural design. Then, based on the analysis of the representation characteristics of building flexibility, this paper puts forward two flexible design strategies, improving adaptability and convertibility from three levels: functional units, spatial pattern and spatial organization, and combined with the practical cases demonstration, in order to provide some theoretical basis and guidance for related design and research.
