Abstract：This article aims to adjust an oversimplified discussion of architecture in the current academia. An interview that mentioned both theory and practice always shows the domination of architects, the consumption of architects’previous discourse, and the ambiguity of the discrepancy between their words and works. The four topics of this conversation try to show the continuous thinking and practical solution implied by Li Xinggang in his long-term practice, thus breaking the rigid image shaped by the ambiguous vocabulary and iconic visual effects. At the same time, as the keywords and understandings of Fung and Li showed mismatches in this conversation, this tension will bring the architects, the interlocutors and the readers to constantly turn and intertwine their thoughts in the process of both discussion and reading.
