Abstract:The current crisis in architecture is a result of the combination of overall social development issues and long-standing problems within the discipline itself. To make a breakthrough, it is necessary to explore possible paths in the dialectical movement between the two. From this point of view, the multidimensional issues of architecture identified and explored in the inaugural issue of New Architecture in 1983 remain sharply relevant and persistent, without fundamental changes, and are truly worth reconsidering. This article starts with the textual status and embedded concepts in the inaugural issue of New Architecture, and further explores potential architectural pathways within the current social situation and development crisis.
