From “Traditional Architecture Surveying and Mapping” to “Historical Environment Record”: The Development and Exploration of Teaching Practice in Ancient Architectural Surveying and Mapping at Tongji University
Abstract:This paper systematically introduces the curriculum setup and teaching development of the “Historical Environment Record” course of ancient architectural surveying and mapping at Tongji University. It explores various practical issues in teaching such as the excavation of locational features, the selection of high-tech methods and instruments, teaching efficiency improvement, and strengthening of professional capabilities. Emphasizing the importance of methods of understanding cultural spaces and assessing their value in traditional architectural surveying, the paper highlights the dual significance for students in character building and professional skill enhancement within this practical course.
