Insistence and Innovation: The Development Process and Reform Exploration of the “Surveying and Mapping of Historical Buildings” Course at Chongqing University
Abstract:The article traces the establishment and development process of the course “Surveying and Mapping of Historical Buildings” at Chongqing University, presenting the practical problems faced in different periods and the characteristics of the course at different stages, with a focus on discussing the background and measures of teaching reform in recent years. In the last decade, the curriculum encountered new problems such as severe compression of class hours, changing demands for scientific research and heritage protection, and rapid development of surveying and mapping technology. To cope with the above changes and ensure teaching quality, the curriculum team has returned to and adhered to the original goal of the curriculum, which is to “recognize traditional architectural culture”. At the same time, a series of new reform measures have been taken, such as optimizing the overall teaching system, adjusting the selection of surveying objects and surveying workload, improving teaching methods, and adopting reasonable new surveying technologies.
