Abstract:For almost a century, Southeast University has been at the forefront of garden surveying and mapping, yielding rich and unique results. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the university’s journey in this field, categorizing it into four distinct phases: pioneering exploration, accurate documentation, scope expansion, and innovative perspectives. It highlights the key achievements of each phase, distilling their unique contributions. The paper underscores Southeast University’s profound commitment to teaching and researching garden surveying and mapping, emphasizing its ongoing efforts to expand and innovate. The ultimate goal is to celebrate China’s traditional garden culture and motivate future generations to carry on this legacy with fresh innovations.
