Abstract：Gio Ponti is one of the most influential modernist architects in the 20th century, and the limiting and guiding mechanism of“vision”is very important in the generation of his residential space from inside to outside. By investigating the clues of“diagonal visual sequence”and“fan-shaped visual sequence”in the plan of the three classic wing-shaped villas designed by Ponti, this paper summarizes five types of vision shaping the corresponding plots, such as“opposite”, “corner”, “diffusion”, “diagonal”and“panorama”, which reveals that the family space is constructed by different users with different identities. Ponti’s“differentiated”home narrative is spatially experiential, daily emotional and anti order, extending the critical thinking of the current commercial housing.
