Simulation Evaluation and Optimization of Classroom Combined Luminous Environment Driven by the Health Performance: A Case Study of Typical Classrooms in Middle Schools in Suzhou
Abstract:The non-visual effects of light affect the physical and mental health of adolescents. As the main place of daily learning, the non-visual health performance of combined luminous environment in the classroom are still unclear. This study first selected ordinary classrooms in primary and secondary schools in Suzhou to investigate the current situation of architectural features and luminous environment, then focused on the typical classroom model of secondary schools to propose a set of methods and procedures to evaluate the health performance of classroom combined luminous environment. The three indicators of percentage of useful space, the spatial distribution of EML value, and spatial depth of compliance were integrated and analyzed to explore the change of non-visual in time and spatial dimensions. By setting different window-to-wall ratios and artificial lighting parameters, the refined strategies for the design of healthy classroom luminous environments were proposed to provide healthy environmental support for adolescents.
