Abstract:Supported by digital technology, the perceptual experience of historical and cultural spaces is increasingly transcending the spatial and temporal confines of the “human-environment” dynamic. For historical and cultural street spaces that are abundant in historical imprints and human vitality, the differences in visual perceptual experiences between virtual space environments and the real world have not been fully studied. This study, taking Pingjiang Road in Suzhou as a case study, employs eye-tracking experiments and SD semantic analysis to collect and analyze both subjective and objective data on spatial visual perception across virtual and real scenarios. The study reveals the distinctive features and key influencing factors of spatial visual perception experiences, thereby enhancing the development and utilization of historical and cultural street spaces in the digital age of cultural tourism.
