Abstract：The study on the traditional commercial streets in Lhasa City is important for the protection of the urban old district and residents’traditional social life style. The authors conducted field investigation from the aspects of spatial composition, forms, business format, and organization of commercial space. Based on the data collected, this paper classifies all the traditional streets into four types through cluster analysis. Accordingly, the spatial composition characteristics of every type are clarified. It is intended that the result of the paper can provide theoretical reference for the preservation and regeneration of traditional commercial streets of Lhasa City.
