Abstract:Streets are the basic constituents of urban form and are closely related to people’s lives. This paper takes Wuhan central city as an example to analyse the morphological relevance between street interface and street network. The measurement parameters of street interface morphology are interface density and near-line ratio, and the measurement parameters of street network morphology are integration and choice. The results show that street interface density is positively correlated with street network integration and choice at the full zoning scale, and street interface density is positively correlated with street network integration at the zoning scale. The street near-line ratio is not correlated with street network integration and choice at the full zoning scale; however, the street near-line ratio is positively correlated with street network integration at the zoning scale. Overall, the higher the street accessibility, the denser the corresponding street interface is; however, whether the street interface is neater or not shows variability according to different types of urban texture. This study further reveals the intrinsic connection between the elements of urban morphology, which can help to build a vibrant street space in China.
