Abstract:Historic streets in Asian cities are shaped by building complex with indigenous features, which are the result of climate adaptation stemming from residents’ response to local climate. Therefore, compared with visual representation control, the strategies and corresponding principles derived from climate adaptation are more essential and developmental in historic street regeneration. Taking Pho Ma May in Hanoi, Vietnam as an example, this paper analyzes the interaction between climate adaptation factors and developing street features in the process of historic urban regeneration based on facts of network hotspot and climate data. It analyzes and summarizes the climate-adaptability-led control strategies and methods in historic street regeneration from the perspectives of land use, business category and morphological characteristics, and puts forward the research idea applicable to climatic culture research into Asian historical cities.
