Abstract：From the perspective of the“city catalyst theory”, this paper analyzes the sustainable catalytic mechanism of existing sports centers as the catalyst for urban renovation through typical cases. It explores the renewal catalyst elements of the sports center from three aspects of space, function and culture, taking the optimization of the catalyst elements as the way for the sports center to continuously play its role and realize value appreciation. Then, it summarizes four kinds of sustainable catalytic actions, namely conversion, stimulation, enhancement and repair, and proposes five types of regeneration catalysts: the post competition utilization type, the event mutation type, the gradual fermentation type, the cultural conservation type and the comprehensive type, in order to provide references for the renovation and development of the sports center.
