Abstract:The long-term transplantation of Western paradigms in modern Chinese architecture education has led to the systematic absence of traditional genes and the disconnection between theory and practice, which has triggered critical introspection about contemporary architecture education. The School of Architecture of Tianjin University, based on the laws of architectural education, puts forward the educational concept of rooting in the core values of Chinese culture. A cultivation mode for outstanding talents in architecture has been established with the system integrating history, design and construction, supported by the advanced engineering innovation practice platform. Facing the future, it launches design studios with the theme based on the concept of sustainable development. After ten years of exploration, it has created a challenging new paradigm of Chinese architecture education.
