Abstract：The corner space in traditional Chinese architecture has the characteristics of strong closure and estrangement from the courtyard. These characteristics result in the inconvenience of residential space. With this as the background, this research investigates the design breakthrough of corner door vernacular architecture in Nanbu County, Sichuan from three aspects: the technical design of the corner space, the accommodation and adjustment of the production and living space, and the systematic shaping of the hierarchical space of this type of dwelling. With the technology of combining slanted “doorway with Chexinzhu”, it breaks the closeness of the corner room and embodies the folk design wisdom that starts from the details to the whole.
