Abstract：Incremental development with high-intensity in the process of urban expansion has led to much “left-over space” in the city which has gradually evolved into urban debris. Under the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, and with the block boundary space serving as the passive space with the widest distribution and the largest scale in the city, it is urgent and essential as how to realize the exterior and interior communication and ultimately the spatial vitality enhancement in blocks. Based on the theory of space production, this paper analyses some relevant renewal cases and puts forward corresponding strategies namely material-space construction, cultural-space remodeling and social-space resurrection from three distinctive aspects by combining the ternary dialectical relationship of space production. Through this, it is possible to provide some relevant references for the construction of efficient, complex and resilient block boundary space.
