Abstract:The historical blocks located in the city center are susceptible to the influence of traffic pollution, and it is an important measure to study their air pollution status to guide their renovation and transformation strategies. In this article, we select 16 historical blocks in Wuhan to study the air quality of existing urban historical blocks. Using numerical simulation, we clarify the relationship between the spatial form of historical blocks and the diffusion distribution of air pollutants, and propose spatial optimization strategies based on pollutant control. The research results show that the important factors affecting the diffusion distribution of air pollutants in historical blocks are the street spatial form, followed by the building layout. Finally, based on the problems found through numerical simulation and related regulations for historical block preservation, we propose suggestions for updating the exterior spaces of historical blocks.
