Abstract：In situ urbanization driven by the transformation of rural industries has became an important way for rural revitalization. However, with the transformation of industries, the problems of “spatial inefficiency”, “spatial chaos”and“destructive style”in rural areas are obvious. This study focuses on the typical urban-suburban integrated rural communities in Hunan, through focusing on investigating the spatial morphology change characteristics and potential problems of the rural community scale under different industrial transformation modes. We collected the spatial needs of different groups of people, including residents, operators and tourists in rural communities through research, and discussed the appropriate construction strategies for community living spaces in the context of the transformation and development of rural integration in the suburbs of Hunan. The research results provides practical suggestions and useful references for the spatial construction of different types of rural communities in central areas of China.
