Abstract：The traditional residential districts in old city centers are characterized by their large size, scattered historical buildings, diverse residents, huge potential and complex planning conditions. These areas present many difficulties when it comes to renewal and programming of the vacated courtyards. This paper builds a spatial diagnosis platform for the vacated courtyards of traditional residential districts in the old city, and explains the general idea and technical steps based on the combination of“data integration”and“problem analysis”. This platform provides a technical aid for dynamic response to complex regeneration subjects and demand-influenced regeneration decisions. It has been tested in actual urban renewal projects, helping to improve the scientific nature of spatial programming and optimize the scientific operation and allocation of inventory spatial resources.
