Abstract:The interaction between the phenomenal body and objective space shapes the spatial attributes of architecture through an experience-centered behavior pattern. Embodied theory, which extends from the body, has deeply influenced the theoretical development of many disciplines, including anthropology, architecture, and design. In architectural design theory, the concept of “embodied design”, derived from the term “embodied”, is an architectural design method based on human bodily characteristics and life experiences. It aims to touch and shape people’s emotions and experiences through spatial design. This paper further focuses on the theoretical construction of the “embodied section”, which integrates behavior, scene, and atmosphere design with architectural section design. This approach guides students to deeply understand the relationships among materials, structures, and sections, as well as how these factors affect user behavior and usage scenarios. By introducing the teaching perspective of the “embodied section”, this paper aims to promote the transformation of the experience-centered design teaching paradigm.
