Abstract:In high-density settings, small and micro green spaces have emerged as a key area of research interest. This study investigates the social behavior of the elderly within such spaces, employing advanced techniques such as LiDAR and UAV monitoring for quantitative assessment. It establishes a correlation between the elderly’s social behavior and their multidimensional perception of the green view, thereby exploring the patterns that are influenced by the characteristics of the green view. Through the analysis of ten spaces in Nanjing, the research reveals a clear correlation between the duration of the elderly’s social interactions and their perception of the green view, with group behavior being more influenced. Vegetation hierarchy and compactness are identified as crucial spatial factors that have an impact on the social perceptions of the elderly. Future research could further explore this relationship to unearth an optimal paradigm for fostering the social interaction of the elderly in small and micro green spaces.
