Abstract:Traditional dwellings are products of people’s adaptability to specific regional conditions and serve as essential examples of buildings that harmonize with the local climate. Focusing on the Jianghuai region, this paper analyzes the interaction between the typical spatial forms of vernacular dwellings and the climate from five perspectives: climate factors shaping, spatial form and type, spatial climate gradient, climate control interfaces, and performance-oriented structures. The analysis combines field research with performance simulation. By establishing a technical analysis pathway for spatial climate construction samples, the paper mathematically condenses architectural elements, and identifies construction measures that achieve optimal indoor comfort in the Jianghuai region. These findings provide practical theoretical foundations and technical strategies for the protective restoration and adaptive reuse of regional traditional dwellings.
