Abstract：In modern times, Chinese architects did not pay enough attention to “mechanism-machineingenuity” and paid more attention to “exquisiteness”, resulting in a depressed situation where architects lost consciousness or ability of control and complete withdrawing from control of mechanical and electrical engineering in architectural design, or were merely entangled in hesitation between hiding or exposing electromechanical terminal processing. This research attempts to take the introduction and development of air-conditioning technology (refrigeration) in building engineering as a clue, and presents the process of changing from a perspective of history of architectural technology, reveals the real situation of China’s building environmental management relying on peripheral machines gradually and even machine space duality, and tries to generate new ideas and suggestions on the design thinking: integrated design of environmental management based on “space-conditioning”.
