Abstract:With the continuous development of cities, subway stations, as an important component of urban underground space, not only serve to improve urban transportation and meet the functional needs of public daily commuting, but also possess enhanced visual perception and aesthetic qualities. This article focuses on the color environment of the underground space of subway stations. Taking the underground space of Gulou Subway Station in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province as an example, and based on the methods of color science and eye tracking, the physical characteristics of the color environment are investigated on-site. Eye tracking devices are used to record the visual activities of participants, and questionnaires are distributed to obtain subjective evaluations of color interests and comfort. Through the integration of the outcomes of these three data sets, the color environment of the underground public space of the subway station is comprehensively analyzed and evaluated, and corresponding design strategies and recommendations are proposed.
