Measuring the Field with Feet: An Overview of the Research of the Northwest Vernacular Architecture Research of Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology

Abstract：The Northwest Vernacular Architecture Research Team of Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology has always been rooted in the western regions and intensively cultivated in the countryside, dedicating to the improvement of the rural human settlement environment in western China and the inheritance of regional architectural culture. This study systematically sorts out its problem-oriented academic thoughts and research achievements based on fieldwork in different regions of Loess Plateau, Hexi Corridor, Xihaigu, Hehuang, Three-River Source and Tibetan-Yi Pass, in order to fill the gaps in the construction of regional discipline theories, and provide references for related research.
