Abstract：The design of Fragrant Hill Courtyard is rooted in the culture of Fragrant Hill (Xiangshan Mountain), fitting local conditions and blending into the surrounding landscape. Through the design elements of one-tree, two-room and triple-courtyard, and with new and old materials expressing their proper and particular spirits, it creates the space of tranquility and coziness at the mountainside. The architects have practiced for more than twenty years, but their design work of this tiny courtyard has deviated from the routine work process of architectural design institutes. Their design philosophy embodied in the tiny courtyard crosses over the boundary of design areas and further steps into the world without boundary. In the hope of sowing the seeds of countryside beauty and returning the countryside beauty to rural areas, the architects, with their design, interpreted the dreams of courtyard users from their deep hearts and helped to make their dreams come true, and enhanced the feeling of rural reality to the emotion of homeland.
