Abstract:There are mainly two factors that affect the adaptability of residential buildings in Singapore: climate factors and cultural ones. The characteristics of sustainable design brought forth with the integration of these two aspects in residential buildings are particularly significant. The sustainable use of residential buildings requires the greatest degree of architectural space to adapt to its climate and culture. Passive sustainable design is an effective means to achieve this goal. It is of great significance to study the inheritance of the architectural culture under the background of traditional and modern culture.
