Abstract：Since the 1980s, architecture academic community has accumulated a wealth of research results in the ever-changing context of rural human settlement environment construction. In the current era of rural revitalization, it is necessary to explore precise theories and principles in response to emerging problems and demands. To achieve this, it is important to review and summarize the research trajectory, clarify academic logic, and assess the future development path of rural construction. This study utilizes CiteSpace, a scientific knowledge mapping software, and combines qualitative and quantitative analysis methods to analyze the research dimensions and cognitive changes in the field of rural human settlement environment. This study elucidates the iterative evolution of the theoretical knowledge system in rural construction, highlighting the mechanisms of macro strategic guidance, endogenous demand-driven development, diverse external forces, and scholarly value judgment. Furthermore, this study summarizes the frontier hot spots and provides insights into the goals for the sustainable development of rural living environments.
