Abstract:Through reviewing the development of digital surveying technologies and teaching methods for historic buildings and case studies, this paper explores the application of digital surveying technologies such as 3D laser scanning, photogrammetry, HBIM, and hybrid 3D modeling in historic building surveying teaching. It indicates that digital surveying teaching can enhance students’ spatial cognition and analytical abilities, and improve both fieldwork and office work efficiency. It further puts forward a proposal for a “whole-process digital surveying” teaching model, highlighting the key role and application pathways of digital surveying technologies in all stages of historic building surveying course, including preliminary training, fieldwork, office-based drawing and modeling, and innovative applications. The study emphasizes that strengthening teaching awareness, design and organization, process-based training (pre-mid-post), and collaboration between universities and enterprises are crucial factors for effective historic building digital surveying teaching.
