Abstract：In the past twelve years, the“China Ugliest Buildings Survey”carried out by Architectural Talk Network has been regarded as a socialized media practice in the public domain and a differentiated text of the space narrative of the current architectural practice in China. With the new cognitive way provided by the contemporary space and aesthetic theory, the discussion of“judging ugliness in architecture”is placed in the correlation with the society for analysis, from which the“negative living patterns”of contemporary Chinese architecture reflected in the media public domain are outlined. We then hope to further propose practical issues that should be paid close attention to in the future in terms of design decision-making, creation and management, in order to promote the establishment of the direction of building construction and architectural evaluation mode in the era of harmonious coexistence.
