Abstract:Structure has long been an important proposition in the construction and development of architecture. The interaction between spatial perception and the structural forces of physical properties can form the starting point and the main line of design thinking. Faced with the basic issues in the structural practice of architectural design teaching in the second year at Southeast University, this paper discusses and exercises structure-related content such as space, mechanics, and the perception of structural atmosphere. These exercises are carried out from different dimensions, including the spatial order of structure, the perception of force, the reading of force flow, and spatial context. The paper reflects the guiding and promoting role of structure in architectural design teaching, thereby presenting the cognitive significance of the perception of structural atmosphere in the advancement of design.
