Abstract:After the “standardized vegetable market” is put into use, it is inevitable that space users, mainly street vendors, will carry out daily “spatial practice”. Behind this phenomenon is the critical representation that the space does not meet the diverse needs of users. After referring to the practical theory of daily life of Michel de Certeau, a French scholar, and by investigating and recording the existing standardized vegetable market in Huangpu District, Shanghai, it analyzes and summarizes how the space users, mainly stallholder, meet their needs through the space utilization of object scale and building component scale elements under the top-down space limitation and control, and integrate daily life and standardized vegetable market space. The research hopes to learn space wisdom from daily life and transform it into design resources, and put forward relevant design suggestions to make up for the lack of spatial design in the standardized vegetable market.
