Abstract:This study investigates the public space of typical residential areas in Wuhan and collects the thermal environment parameter data through actual measurement and questionnaire survey and the user's thermal comfort voting. By analyzing the outdoor activity characteristics and outdoor thermal comfort characteristics of Wuhan residents, and the correlation between the spatial attendance and the thermal comfort index PET, it discusses the influence of the difference of activity types on thermal comfort adaptability. The study finds that if the SVF is higher, the PET will be higher. Social activities are less sensitive to the change of thermal environment than spontaneous activities. There is a quadratic parabolic relationship between the space utilization rate and the thermal comfort index PET. Finally, it proposes the differentiated thermal comfort improvement strategy of public space.
