Abstract:The Shenzhen University Performance Center is the most representative building in the central group construction process of Shenzhen University (1983-1988), designed and constructed under the leadership of Liang Hongwen. This project employs the structural system, building materials, and construction techniques that embody the characteristics of architectural tectonics, creating a campus assembly space with the distinct features of the Lingnan region and having been listed in the catalog of modern architectural heritage. This article takes the design and construction history of the Shenzhen University Performance Center as the main thread, relying on detailed archival documents and oral history materials to elaborate on its unique construction process from the relationship between space and environment, construction strategies and processes, emphasizing the value system of its heritage that reflects regional and temporal characteristics. The further elaboration of the construction archive and knowledge in this research enriches the value composition of architectural heritage in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone since the Reform and Opening-up.
