Abstract:This paper focuses on transforming small-diameter round timber from abandoned material to available construction resources and applying it to modern wooden buildings to alleviate the shortage of forest resources in China. By using the method of comparison and analysis and combined with the cognitive misunderstanding and material defects of small-diameter round timber, this paper explores the application potential of small-diameter round timber from three aspects: structural system, node construction and morphological performance, and puts forward the technical design and morphological expression strategy. It aims to promote the innovative application of small-diameter round timber in modern wooden architecture and conform to the theme of modern green building development.
