Abstract：The Chinese Eastern Railway is typical and unique as a cultural route carrying cross-cultural exchanges, emerging in northeastern China between the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. For the architectural heritage of cultural routes, “heritagisation”is the an indispensable path for its sustainable development. By summarizing the “heritagisation”process of the architectural heritage of China’s cultural routes, and taking the architectural heritage of the Chinese Eastern Railway cultural route as a case study, this article analyzes the transformation path of the architectural heritage of cultural routes in the era of heritage protection, interprets the contemporary value created by heritage recognition and heritage interpretation in the era of“heritagisation”, and discusses the opportunities and challenges faced by the architectural heritage of cultural routes in the era of further“re-heritagization”, thereby providing a new direction for the contemporary protection of the architectural heritage of cultural routes.
