Street-facing Facade Renovation Techniques for Brick-concrete Residential Buildings in Rural Towns under Low-carbon Principles: An Empirical Study Based on Southern Shaanxi
Abstract:The implementation of low-carbon renovation for brick-concrete residential buildings is a key initiative to promote the construction industry’s achievement of“carbon neutrality”. This study selects brick-concrete residential buildings in rural townships of Southern Shaanxi as its research objects, summarises their evolutionary and construction characteristics, and identifies the“street interface”as the entry point for low-carbon transformation. Through deconstructing the street interface prototype and integrating relevant demands, this study proposes building energy-saving targets centered on improving the performance of the enclosure structure, and develops assembly unit module of steel structure with light intervention method. Based on design experiments and energy consumption simulation analyses of typical street interfaces, the study adopts a three-step strategy of“structural framework establishment, enclosure system filling, and functional component selection and installation”to complete the low-carbon transformation. The results of energy consumption simulation confirm that this model can effectively reduce carbon emissions during building operation. Furthermore, the study proposes a scientific, standardised, and demonstrative technical system for the low-carbon renovation of rural township residential buildings.
