Abstract：Most of the protection of the space heritage of folk academies is still at the material level, and the absence of the protection of intangible cultural heritage, which is closely related to it, often leads to the loss of the vitality of its heritage space. Based on field investigation, this paper analyzes the phenomenon of the strengthening of the sacrificial function of the folk academies in southern Fujian and the resulting spatial pattern changes under the background of folk belief. With the analysis of spatial node, path and area, it clarifies the features of the sacrificial space of folk academies in Southern Fujian, explores the “dialogue” relationship between space elements of academy sacrifice and sacrificial behavior, and analyzes the value of the sacrificial space of folk academies in Southern Fujian under the background of folk belief. It then fully reveals the characteristic of the interdependence between “Confucianism” and “vulgarity” of folk academies in Southern Fujian, and summarizes the reason why they survive and keep alive under the background of folk belief, so as to explore new ideas for the overall protection and cultural inheritance of academy and similar space heritages.
