Abstract:This article attempts to expound the local strategies in the special environments of Africa, by means of research on three modern buildings in the capital Niamey and the design of the General Hospital of Niger. The architectural environment comprises not only the natural environment where the building resides, but also the local economy and social impact. Therefore, the low-tech construction methods ensure the building is built with low cost, good quality and high durability. In this way, the building is not only adaptable to the local climates and environment, but also integrated with the local culture.
