Abstract:The study of the history of Han Dynasty architecture relies heavily on the various types of wood-like remains built or produced with reference to wooden architecture, from which wooden architectural information such as form, structure and detailing is obtained. Wood-like structures are not the same as wooden ones, therefore, before using the wooden-like images in the remains as evidence for architectural history research, we need to carry out the work of reading and analyzing the authenticity of the wooden structure information. This basic work requires two stages of research. We should first summarize the characteristics of the translations of wooden structure information in different types of Han Dynasty remains. Through the examination of cliff tomb, mingqi and que, and on the premise of grasping the overall characteristics of the Han Dynasty wood-imitation phenomenon, this study explores the architectural information translation characteristics of the three types of wood-like remains in terms of the focus of wooden structure imitation, the purpose of construction, materials and construction characteristics. Based on this, we then identify the authenticity of the structural information in these wood-like remains. Due to the length of this article, this is the first part of the study - the type-based information recognition of the wood-like remains.
