Abstract:With the rapid development of the new media technology, the architecture surface and media information become more blending and interlaced, which have brought a new opportunity and challenge for architectural design. In order to cope with this change actively, this study aims to break up the limitation of the pure aesthetics research of architectural space, and introduce a new topic about new media communication. It then analyses the technological development and the change of dissemination modes respectively. It finally summarizes two main characteristics of “flowing media” and “porous penetration”, which will be helpful for contemporary designers to understand the evolutionary characteristics of architectural surface design more effectively.
