Abstract：In the 1940s and 1950s, Marshall Brower did a lot of independent housing design in the United States and put forward the concept of“Bi-nuclear House”, which was of a wide influence. With the basic context of the formation process of residential spatial structure from prototype to variants, this paper analyzes the architectural function and spatial features of Marcel Breuer’s typical housing design works to explore the logic of modernist space and local life behind it and the design strategies to improve people’s family life. It is intended to provide reference and inspiration for current housing design.
