Research on the Correlation between Urban Built Environment and High-risk Communities under Epidemic Situation Based on the Sample of Seven Urban Communities in Hankou
Abstract:Urban high-risk communities under the epidemic situation are related to the urban built environment. With the fifteen minutes community life circle in the daily aimed path of community residents as the spatial scope for investigating the urban built environment, this paper focuses on seven high-risk communities where lots of residents infected with coronavirus in Hankou, Wuhan, and discusses how urban public space and public facilities with different types or different grade impact the public health of urban communities under the epidemic situation. The research shows that there is an antinomy between the influence of public facilities in urban high-level public space on community public health in peacetime and epidemic time. The informal communities in the old urban areas superimposed with the adverse factors in the urban built environment tend to be more vulnerable in terms of public health.
