Abstract：As the current architectural heritage protection pays more attention to the restoration and protection of the noumenon than the display of the cultural connotation, this paper puts forward that the heritage protection must change to the overall open direction which emphasizes the integrity and the coordinated development with the society. It studies and introduces the theories and methods related to literary narration and analyzes them by analogy with the narrative interpretation of architectural heritage, and puts forward the construction methods of narrative activation and protection of architectural heritage from three aspects: clue mining, theme conception and spatial expression. In this paper, the architectural heritage from Erling to Datianwan in Chongqing is selected as the design practice to verify and discuss the narrative protection methods, in order to provide a new reference method for the activation and protection of architectural heritage.
