Memorizing the Nostalgia and Carrying Forward the Traditional Chinese Architectural Culture: A Review of the 21st Academic Annual Conference on Chinese Vernacular Architecture and the International Conference on Vernacular Architecture
Abstract：The 21st Academic Annual Conference on Chinese Vernacular Architecture and the International Conference on Vernacular Architecture was held in Hu’nan University of Science and Technology. The conference theme was “Protection and Inheritance”, and it focused on four aspects of the traditional dwelling research method, the protection and reuse of the traditional dwellings, inheritance and innovation of the vernacular architecture construction skills, and the survival and the development strategy of traditional settlements. It also discussed the current situation and trend of Chinese vernacular architecture study, the latest protection regulations and standards of the traditional dwellings, as well as the various practical techniques and the best solution in the protection process of traditional dwellings.
