Abstract:The versatility of architectural studio activities determines that these studio spaces are of spatial characteristics with multilayered narrative and spatial hierarchy, as well as inherited territorial uncertainty. “Limit and release” of a space is a universal logic in the making of architectural spaces. If considering the “territorial uncertainty” to be the “limit” of an architectural studio, the representation of “territorial uncertainty” arguably lies in the actual form. Borrowing Frei Otto’s approach of “occupying and connecting” for understanding settlements, the emergence of territorial uncertainty can be identified within architectural studio spaces.
