Abstract：The construction of human settlements is a process in which humans build living places according to their production and living needs. The migration of Mongolian herdsmen and the expansion of the people’s frontier have gradually divided the spatial form and structure of the countryside into distinct geographical units. Based on the abstraction of regional spatial features, this study focuses on the characteristics of rural human settlements to summarize the rural space construction model in Inner Mongolia agricultural areas, forest areas, pastoral areas and semi-agricultural and semi-pastoral areas. In order to reflect the origin of rural human settlements in Inner Mongolia, this study works on the laws and spatial characteristics of rural development in different regions, different forms and different properties in rural spatial system.
